ALMU CORAZON

Business Strategist & Advisor Founder, Systemic Connection & Connecticut Spanish Club

My career has been built around reading complex situations quickly, identifying what matters, connecting information and interests that may initially appear unrelated, and translating that understanding into practical strategy and action.

I have applied that judgment across family business, executive advisory, reputation and positioning, international business, organizational complexity, and human performance.

The environments have changed. The value I bring has remained consistent:

  • Understand what is happening
  • Recognize what is changing
  • Identify what is influencing the outcome
  • Determine what matters
  • Build the strategy
  • Execute with integrity

Today, from my base in Connecticut, I bring that perspective to family businesses, senior leaders, entrepreneurs, ambitious professionals, and organizations through Systemic Connection.

A PERSPECTIVE SHAPED BY BUSINESS

My understanding of business began inside my family's multigenerational business environment in Madrid and the closely connected community of generational businesses surrounding the historic Plaza Mayor.

I grew up seeing business as more than commerce.

Ownership, reputation, relationships, responsibility, financial decisions, and continuity were interconnected. What happened within a family could influence a business, and what happened within a business could affect a family for generations.

International perspective was also part of that education from an early age.

I traveled throughout Europe with my father and, at times, employees of our family business, attending fashion weeks, trade fairs and industry conventions in cities including Paris, Milan, Venice and Berlin.

We went to understand what was changing.

New products. New technologies. Consumer behavior. Competition. International trends. Ideas that might matter to the business back in Madrid.

Long before I had professional language for it, I was learning to observe an environment, recognize relevant signals, connect information, and consider what might come next.

That instinct has remained central to how I work.

FROM MADRID TO AN INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY CAREER

When I left Spain in 2006, I began a professional chapter that would take me through Los Angeles, New York, and eventually Connecticut, while continually expanding the environments, industries, and perspectives informing my work.

After studying Business and Marketing at ESIC Business & Marketing School in Spain, I continued my education in International Trade and Commerce through UCLA Extension.

My early professional experience in the United States crossed international commerce, entertainment and multicultural media, including Avis, Maya Entertainment and People en Español at Time Inc.

As an independent consultant, I also contributed to Yahoo en Español during an important period in the development of Spanish-language digital search, helping localize and develop information for Spanish-speaking users.

I was entering business at a moment when technology was fundamentally changing how people found information, how organizations communicated, and how reputations were formed.

Different industries kept bringing me back to similar questions:

  • What is changing?
  • What are people paying attention to?
  • What information is shaping perception?
  •  What might happen next?
  • And how should a person or business respond?

Those questions eventually took me to New York.

NEW YORK | STRATEGY, REPUTATION & EXECUTIVE ADVISORY

In 2010, I founded my consulting practice in New York.

My work increasingly focused on the changing relationship between digital information, reputation, communications and influence.

One of my early clients was Robert L. Dilenschneider, founder of The Dilenschneider Group.

He initially retained me as an external advisor to strengthen his digital positioning and develop greater fluency in an emerging communications environment that was beginning to materially change how senior leaders and organizations were perceived publicly.

At the time, digital media was creating reputational challenges that many established organizations had not yet fully integrated into traditional communications strategy.

I was brought in to help close that gap.

What began as an external advisory relationship led to my recruitment to The Dilenschneider Group, where I went on to lead the firm's digital strategy function.

The role placed me at the intersection of executive reputation, digital media, strategic communications and high-stakes reputation management, working within an advisory environment serving senior decision-makers and organizations across New York, Washington and Chicago.

It also introduced me to the intensity and complexity of international crisis communications, where information could travel globally before traditional decision-making structures had time to respond.

I brought an understanding of the emerging digital environment into an established strategic communications practice. In return, I gained exposure to another level of executive judgment, stakeholder complexity, reputation, and consequence.

It was an important chapter of my career.

The work that followed expanded the scope of my practice considerably.

STRATEGIC JUDGMENT IN PRACTICE

After The Dilenschneider Group, I continued developing my independent advisory practice.

Clients came with concrete objectives:

  • Protect a reputation.
  • Reposition a professional career.
  • Strengthen financial stability.
  • Prepare a family business for succession.
  • Navigate conflict.
  • Manage a significant transition.
  • Position an initiative internationally.
  • Create a viable path toward growth.

Over time, I became increasingly interested in the difference between the problem being presented and the forces actually determining the outcome:

  • A reputation problem could affect professional opportunity and financial stability.
  • A family relationship could influence leadership and succession.
  • An unexpected loss could alter management, ownership expectations, and growth plans simultaneously.
  • Personal behavior could undermine an otherwise viable business strategy.
  • Competing interests could prevent capable people from executing what appeared, on paper, to be the right decision.

This is often where I am most useful.

I read situations quickly. I connect factors that may be considered separately. I identify what deserves attention and where action is most likely to create movement.

Then the work becomes practical.

Strategy. Priorities. Decisions. Action. Execution.

For me, integrity is not an abstract value.

It is the alignment between what we say we intend to accomplish, the decisions we make in support of it, and the actions that follow.

FAMILY BUSINESS | REPUTATION ACROSS GENERATIONS

Family business is one of the environments where the breadth of my experience becomes particularly relevant.

  • I understand it from several positions.
  • I grew up within a multigenerational business environment.
  • I became an entrepreneur.
  • I have advised founders, senior professionals, and business families.
  • And I have worked in situations where reputation, relationships, succession, growth, and continuity could no longer be considered independently.

A family business does not have only one reputation:

  • The business has a reputation
  • The family has a reputation
  • Individual leaders have reputations
  • The next generation is developing its own professional identity
  • Community involvement communicates what the family represents beyond commercial success

Increasingly, all of these coexist in a permanent digital environment.

This creates an important area of my work: strategic oversight of how family, business, individual leaders, next generation, and community impact are positioned as an interconnected reputation system.

My work can encompass:

  • Family and business reputation
  • Digital strategy and online positioning
  • Executive and family-member visibility
  • Next-generation professional positioning
  • Community involvement and social impact
  • Reputation through succession and transition
  • Alignment between individual, family, and business narratives

This is not social media management.

It is strategic reputation and positioning across an interconnected family-business system.

PROFESSIONAL VISIBILITY & ADVANCEMENT

Another important application of my work concerns ambitious professionals whose capability may be greater than their current professional position reflects.

This includes professionals navigating disability or significant physical limitations.

My work in this area is not centered on disability law, compliance, or accommodation policy.

It begins with capability:

  • What value can this person create?
  • How are they positioned professionally?
  • Does their professional presence communicate their capability, ambition, and contribution?
  • What is limiting their visibility?
  • How can they strengthen agency and leadership capacity?
  • What decisions and behaviors support greater professional and financial stability?
  • What needs to change for capability to translate into opportunity?
  • And how can institutions become better at recognizing and developing professional potential that may otherwise remain underrecognized?

My own experience with significant physical limitation later in my career deepened my perspective on these questions.

Capability can remain when circumstances change.

Ambition can remain.

Professional value can remain.

The question becomes how someone understands their position, works intelligently with the reality of their circumstances, and continues building from there.

I am particularly interested in helping ambitious professionals strengthen their professional imprint, positioning, visibility, performance, and capacity to create greater financial stability and freedom.

For institutions, the opportunity is complementary: to recognize potential, develop talent, and create pathways through which capable professionals can contribute, advance, and lead.

WHY SYSTEMIC CONNECTION

Systemic Connection is not a reinvention of my career.

It is the integration of it.

I have spent my professional life observing how business, people, information, reputation, relationships, and circumstances influence outcomes, long before I gave that perspective a name.

Systemic Connection organizes that work around three pillars:

AGENCY

Understanding your position, responsibility, influence, boundaries, and capacity to choose.

SYSTEMIC INTELLIGENCE

Reading the wider environment, connecting information that may appear unrelated, recognizing what is influencing an outcome, and anticipating where attention may be required next.

PERFORMANCE

Translating clarity and strategic judgment into intentional action, disciplined execution and meaningful results.

I apply this perspective through strategic advisory, consulting, programs and workshops with family businesses, leaders, ambitious professionals and institutions.

YOUR POSITION CHANGES

WHAT BECOMES POSSIBLE.

How you understand your place, what you carry, and how you respond shapes the decisions you make and the outcomes you create.
